Recent Site Updates
Here is a list of the most recent major updates to this site:
- August 21, 2008:
In late July, I got excited about resuming work on my
Flash Gordon rocket
and progress continued with the tail section mold.
- July 21, 2008:
My third full-sized ARLISS rocket is complete; the
Two 'Fer
flew for a test flight at Mavericks this past weekend.
- September 24, 2007:
Story and pictures of the two ARLISS flights I made at the
XPRS 2007 launch
(now including photos from the students).
- August 30, 2007:
Upon receipt of my Chromaveil photo pattern composite cloth, I started planning
Cool Blue Reason,
a simple 3FNC rocket to experiment with this product.
- August 27, 2007:
Pictures and description of my favorite lamination technique used on the
Nike-Tomahawk booster reinforcement
has been added.
- June 9, 2007:
Jeff Boldig sent me a variation of the
fin beveling jig
which he uses with a router table.
- May 10, 2007:
Pictures and description of building the composite
Nike-Tomahawk fins
have been posted.
- March 31, 2007:
When considering which rocket to model as a demonstration of composite
techniques, I chose to build a 45%
Nike-Tomahawk.
- February 6, 2007:
After a discussion about reworkign the ARLISS rocket design,
I added more comparative info to the first
ARLISS 2004
post-flight analysis.
- January 2, 2007:
Due to continuing high demand,
I have added links to makers of custom decals to the
Alps Decals page.
- October 5, 2006:
The details of U.S. FAA waiver requirements and terminology
has been updated under the Laws & Regulations section of the
Welcome page.
- July 1, 2005:
With a little help from my friends, large tubes were rolled for the
Wac Corporal.
- February 27, 2005:
Posted page on a new way to cut large tubes safely, using a
tile saw jig.
- December 23, 2004:
Started design work on my newest project: a full-size
Wac Corporal.
- October 12, 2004:
The students from Tohoku University sent me pictures and info on their
walking robot project,
which I launched at XPRS.
- September 27, 2004:
Launch reports from XPRS 2004 are ready.
I flew my
ARLISS 2004
rocket twice and the
Crayon Pack
(half a time).
- September 12, 2004:
After a long hiatus (could it really have been six years?),
the
Crayon Pack
is finished!
- September 4, 2004:
Painting completed and final assembly done on my
ARLISS 2004 rocket.
- August 7, 2004:
Work proceeds on the rebuilt
ARLISS 2004,
starts on the new
Minie-Magg
and resumes on the long-delayed
Crayon Pack.
- July 11, 2004:
Site updated with new appearance, designed by Brent McNeeley of
Rocketeer Media.
- June 15, 2004:
Work starts on my ARLISS rebuild, the
ARLISS 2004 or 3UP.
Also, design starts on the 1-can
ARLISS-K
